Unique opportunity to lead new solar, wind and hydro projects
Based in Gisborne, with travel to Hawkes Bay and the Bay of Plenty

This is a genuinely unique opportunity to make a real contribution to a sustainable future for Aotearoa – all while based in the surfing and sunshine mecca of Gisborne, Tairāwhiti.

In this lynchpin role, you’ll be responsible for the successful management and delivery of multiple new renewable power generation projects, with a focus on solar, wind and hydro. You’ll be involved with initial assessments through to development, procurement and completion. You will ensure that each project is delivered safely, on time and on budget, meeting all quality and performance standards.

Another key responsibility will be developing close working relationships with stakeholders.

As required, you’ll also assist with the delivery of capital projects, including refurbishment, replacement, renewal and upgrades, on Eastland Generation’s existing assets.

What you’ll be doing:

Managing new renewable power generation projects: scoping, design, resource consents, procurement, contract management, delivery, safety, quality control, performance testing and integration into the existing business.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders including landowners, iwi and hapū, and regional councils, to ensure they are consulted, informed, engaged and supportive of the renewable projects.
Developing and managing project budgets and schedules, and providing progress reports.
Overseeing consultants, suppliers, contractors and other external parties.
Contributing to procurement strategies for new assets, and implementing these plans to ensure best for project outcomes.
Coordinating with our other teams to ensure the successful integration of new generation assets into the existing business portfolio.
Who we’re looking for

You’ll have a Bachelor of Engineering or NZCE with a minimum of five years’ project management experience, preferably within the electricity industry.
Your proven track record will cover all aspects of project and contract management and planning practices, including budgeting and reporting, safety protocols, risk management processes, budgeting and reporting.
You will be a critical thinker with strong communication skills, someone proactive and collaborative who is able to work both independently and as a core member of our team.
You’ll be comfortable using standard business software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, and hold a full valid driver’s licence and a first aid certificate.
