Operating in Australia for over 25 years, our client stands as the global leader in producing the natural insecticide active ingredient, Pyrethrin, derived from Australian grown pyrethrum daisies. Part of a major Japanese Chemical Group, our client is renowned for their success, innovation, positive work culture and an environmentally conscious approach to both agribusiness and manufacturing.

Spanning operations in Tasmania and the rural regions of Central Victoria, our client has pioneered the cultivation of the pyrethrum daisy since its establishment in 1996. Managing thousands of hectares dedicated to producing top-quality products, the organisation is currently on the lookout for a Harvest & Logistics Supervisor to join their dynamic team in Ulverstone, TAS.

Your Role
Joining our client’s dynamic team, the Harvest & Logistics Supervisor will oversee the coordination of pyrethrum harvest logistics, maintaining stringent Biosecurity Tasmania standards and coordinating Crop Reception activities during harvest. This role involves a blend of office-based administration and field oversight, supporting agricultural research and field production as required.

Reporting to the Harvest Logistics Manager, you will employ a practical and hands-on approach and will adeptly communicate issues to the manager, fostering a clear and effective dialogue.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and maintain Standard Work Procedures and documentation for harvest and field production.
Coordinate pyrethrum Crop Reception operations, including onsite weighbridge and logistics.
Uphold Biosecurity Quality Systems and regulatory compliance.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
Support Agricultural Research and Field Production activities.

About You
We are seeking an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who thrives in a tight-knit team environment. Your reliability and adaptability are crucial, as you will continuously refine your technical skills and demonstrate innovation and flexibility in problem-solving scenarios. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.

The role involves managing a seasonal workforce during intense harvest periods, requiring excellent people management skills and meticulous attention to detail. The team culture is collaborative, with a focus on innovation and hands-on support from management.

To be considered for the role, it is important that you can meet the following criteria:
Relevant industry agricultural experience (desired but not essential)
Agricultural Science Degree or Science Degree (desired but not essential)
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Advanced computer literacy and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage data effectively.
Australian Driver Licence
Please note this is a full-time, permanent position. Not suitable for Working Holiday Visa workers - Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
