Maxion Civil is a West Auckland-based civil contractor that works across New Zealand including subdivisions, commercial site works and landscaping. With an enviable workload of projects in the North Island area, we now require a Junior Project Manager to join our team.

About the Role:

The Junior Project Manager is responsible for providing project, logistical and general coordination support to an in-flight project. Prepare governance reports, project status reports, presentations, agendas, and minutes, and maintain logs and registers. Be the bridge between Tender and Delivery team to ensure profitability of each of the projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Successfully lead projects by adhering to proposed schedules, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining excellent quality, H&S and environmental standards, while staying within budget
Develop in-depth understanding of project scope and particulars i.e., timeframes, financials, outcomes
Plan and program project schedule and progress
Develop timelines and milestones for project completion, communicating these to team members, and monitoring progress toward targets
Be responsible for site-based administration on projects, and providing all round support to our site teams. Follow up project progress with the Civil Operations team
Governance reports, project status reports, presentations, agendas, and minutes, and maintain logs and registers on Buildertrend
Be the bridge and enable regular and robust communication between the tender and delivery team to ensure efficient teamwork and on-time project delivery
Take an active part in the project risk/issue management process by contributing to the identification and prioritisation of existing and potential risks and issues
Monitor, analyse, and report on project budget and forecast to the Senior/Intermediate Project Manager
Share relevant documentation and reports with project teams
Organise council consents and inspections
Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance
Procurement - searching suppliers for construction materials, checking supplier's credibility, negotiating with suppliers
Stock management and inventory control of construction materials
Ensure all site activities comply with Health and Safety policy at all levels
Fast and accurate documentation skills with good computer literacy skills

Work Location

Projects all over North Island.

 

We are looking for candidates that have the following skills/experience:

1-3 years of working experience in a similar role
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Initiative and self-motivation
Willing to travel to sites across North Island
Willing to work half day on Saturdays
A high level of attention to detail
Ability to multitask with a can-do attitude
Strong problem-solving ability
Experience using project support systems is desirable
