Description

Our client, a growing financial services company in Chevy Chase, MD is looking for a Real Estate Analyst to join their Real Estate Finance team. This Real Estate Analyst will be part of the team underwriting Commercial Real Estate finance opportunities across the Real Estate Finance division to include Community Lending, CPACE and National Real Estate. The Real Estate Analyst will assist the Real Estate Finance Relationship Managers with underwriting to help meet origination goals, credit quality, and satisfactory returns. Day to day duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

• Assist Relationship Managers with:

Commercial real estate financial modeling and analysis.
Preliminary screening of prospective loan opportunities.
Evaluating financing requests to determine credit quality of opportunities and appropriate loan structures.
Develop a written summary for loan committee review.
• Identify and assess key risks associated with a borrower’s financial performance, industry, and other variables that should be considered in determining a borrower’s risk profile.

• Assess the impact of the guarantor's financial position on the Borrower's ability to service debt.

• Perform industry research to understand trends that impact a company and the competitive environment that it operates in.

• Review the proposed loan structure to determine if it is appropriate to sufficiently mitigate and manage risk.

• Make independent recommendations regarding credit risk supported by comprehensive analysis.

• Communicate effectively and interact with all levels of management. Additionally, must be able to communicate with all Relationship Managers, Team Leaders, and related departments.

• Assist with loan portfolio management and monitoring.

 

The ideal candidate for this Real Estate Analyst role will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year accredited institution is required.

• Minimum of 3 years of commercial real estate financial modeling experience with a bank or commercial finance company; multifamily strongly preferred.

• Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting, including financial statement analysis.

• Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects in parallel while still meeting deadlines.

• An ability to synthesize information from various sources and comprehend multiple, distinct points of views on any given topic.

• Demonstrated experience in financial modeling for sophisticated commercial real estate deals that vary in size and complexity.

• Strong oral and written communications skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate manner.

• Highly motivated business professional, able to thrive in small team environment.

• Extensive and strong knowledge of Excel, to include financial modeling and CoStar.

• Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
