How can you make a difference?
In this position, you will have to:

Streamline and enhance the efficiency of field operations by organizing and overseeing field-level activities under WFP-supported interventions. This includes managing field personnel, scheduling tasks, ensuring timely execution, and resolving any operational challenges that may arise. Implement consistent quality control measures across different field activities ensuring that work is carried out to the highest standards, leading to better outcomes and higher customer satisfaction. Foster cross-functional synergy with different departments and teams often involved in field activities ensuring that each team's efforts complement each other, leading to smoother operations and higher overall efficiency. Oversee the relationships with participants/beneficiaries, partners, and local communities ensuring all stakeholders are engaged appropriately, their concerns are addressed, and their needs are met. Provide specialized expertise and contribute towards the development of project activities, plans and processes and ensure alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines; Provide efficient coordination and specialized project management support to various interventions, and ensure that activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures; Provide inputs in evidence generation for various interventions; Work closely with the partnership and communication unit to formulate proposals for funding and for documenting and communicating results; Identify capacity building initiatives for field level stakeholders engaged in programming and delivery of WFP interventions including WFP field staff, local government and implementing partners; Coordinate and liaise with internal counterparts on a range of moderately complex matters to enable effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities; Foster relationships and support partnership-building with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to perform accurate needs analyses and to ensure efficient delivery of food value chains project implementation; Establish and maintain operational partnerships to identify opportunities for collaborative approaches and initiatives that improve assistance packages and support advocacy work; Support development of implementation modalities including Standard Operating Procedures for various interventions to ensure a clear and strong connection between HQ and field operations; Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis. Other tasks as required.

Education: Completion of secondary school education and a post-secondary certificate in the functional area. A first level university degree in Business Administration, International Affairs, Economic, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance would be an asset.

Experience: At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in direct implementation of food assistance as well as effective Food Value Chain-related projects including participation in implementation of programmes with increased level of responsibility, input in policy discussions activities for an NGO, government institution, UN Agency.

Knowledge & Skills:

Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team; ability to plan and organize work with minimum supervision; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures is desirable.

Languages: Fluency in English and Armenian languages; working knowledge (level B) of Russian language is desired.
