A prominent agency in the education industry is in search of an outgoing Patient Financial Counselor to join their team. As a Patient Financial Counselor your responsibilities will include but are not limited too; working with patients to develop and discuss payment plans based on their financial situation. Setting up payment plans, relaying patient information, informing eligible patients about financial assistance programs and guiding them through the application process. As a Patient Financial Counselor your duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited too

· Ensures the eligibility, selection, and enrollment processes adhere to Head Start Program Performance Standards and as well as the companies' standards and procedures.

· Supports families and other staff in the use of the Online Family Application (such as setting up account, answering questions, entering information, uploading documents, etc.)

· Reviews all applications received and work directly with families to ensure that all necessary enrollment/intake forms are completed and obtained in a timely manner for all children/families assigned to their Center(s).

· Determines the eligibility of children/families, ensuring that all family documentation is accurate and complete.

· Works with Coordinators to enroll children and families based on selection criteria.

· Maintains the funded enrollment level, works with Coordinators to fill vacancies as they occur, and analyze enrollment data to inform the planning process.

· Promotes the Online Family Application during recruitment.

· Maintains program inquiry tracking through database or other tracking reports.

· Inputs all application and ERSEA information in the data system for all children who are enrolled or placed on the waitlist, including the scanning of necessary documents.

· Maintains the ERSEA Master Binder, including all recruitment plans and required action plans regarding attendance.

· Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.

Requirements
The ideal Patient Financial Counselor will have/meet the following requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, business, or a related field. Relevant certifications in healthcare finance or insurance counseling are a plus.

· Prior experience in healthcare financial counseling, billing, or related roles. Familiarity with medical billing codes, insurance claims processes, and government programs.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.

· Compassionate and patient demeanor when dealing with patients facing financial challenges. Ability to empathize and provide support during stressful situations.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address billing discrepancies, insurance issues, and financial concerns.

· Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, billing software, and other relevant healthcare technology.

· Stay informed about healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and industry changes affecting financial aspects of patient care.
