Accountant

Growing company in the Bloomfield area is looking for an Accountant. Working with the Accounting Manager and being a contributing member of the Accounting team, you will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, month end close, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax return preparation, audit and special projects as assigned.

Process, record, and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Reconcile financial information to prepare and post journal entries.
Assist with month end close activities.
Prepare sales and use filings.
Analyze and report on weekly sales and inventory.
Conduct audits and participate in onsite audits.
Assist with payroll processing and credit/collections as needed.
Minimum requirements for the Accountant include a Bachelor’s in Accounting, strong understanding of GAAP, 1+ years of month end close experience, ERP experience and advanced Excel / systems skills.

Base salary range of $60-65k plus benefits DOE.

Requirements
- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Detailed and have the ability work independently

- Solid understanding of general ledger

- Deep understanding of Journal Entry Preparation

- Account reconciliation experience preferred

- Expertise in month end closings

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

- ERP system experience

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
