This company, based in the Thousand Oaks, California area, offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded. In this role, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. How you will make an impact

 

- Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

 

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

 

- Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

 

- Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

 

- Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

 

- Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

 

- Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

 

- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

 

- Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

 

- Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

 

- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

 

- In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

 

- Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

Requirements
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

- Excellent attention to detail

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Basic Bookkeeping experience highly desired

- Journal Entry experience

- Foundational knowledge in Journal Entry Preparation

- Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Experience with ERP systems

- Self-starter and strong ethical standards

- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities
