Description

For over 50 years HM GEM Engines have specialized in Automotive and Heavy Duty Diesel Engine machining including the supply of fully remanufactured engines, cylinder heads & component supply throughout Australia. We support the automotive, earthmoving, marine, industrial, mining, power generation and agricultural industries.

We are currently seeking an experienced Machinist at our workshop located in Shepparton, VIC.

Our facility & equipment provides an exciting opportunity to machine components for a wide range of transport equipment and engines, on some of the industry’s latest equipment. The primary markets serviced by this facility are Automotive, Mining, Power Generation, Marine, Agricultural & On-Highway diesel applications.

The successful applicants will be self-motivated and have a keen eye for accuracy having to work within a quality endorsed environment. They will be assisted by continuous on the job training & enjoy excellent working conditions, working on the industries latest equipment.

Essential skills & attributes that would favor your selection for this position would include:

A trade qualification in fitting turning & machining in the automotive or heavy diesel applications.
Past experience in cylinder head reconditioning, crankshaft grinding, connecting rods and cylinder block machining.
CNC Machining (Rottler etc…) is highly desirable
Welding experience
Engine dismantling and reassembly experience
Attention to detail with process and paper work trail
The ability to source and follow industrial specifications
Forklift licence
Willing to train and mentor apprentices
Be willing to undergo pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol testing
