Senior Accountant – Johnston Associates

We’re looking for one or two Senior Accountants who are ready for more — more ownership, more variety, and more opportunity to grow.

What you’ll be doing:

Managing your own portfolio and being a key point of contact for clients

Preparing and reviewing financials, tax and compliance work

Working closely with clients on cashflow, performance and business decisions

Identifying opportunities to add value beyond compliance

Supporting and mentoring junior team members

This is a role where you’re trusted to run your own clients. In the Gisborne office, you’ll work autonomously day to day, with support from the wider team across the business.

Salary range of $100,000 – $140,000

What we’re looking for:

6+ years’ experience in public practice

CA or CPA qualified

Strong client relationship skills and confidence leading conversations

Solid technical capability across financials and tax

Someone proactive, organised and easy to work with

Experience in rural or farming clients would be an advantage, but not essential.
