Looking for an exciting new opportunity in 2024? Here it is…

The Mid Canterbury Rugby Union is in search of an enthusiastic facilitator and educator to embrace the opportunity of spearheading our efforts to elevate the experiences of coaches, players, and referees.

As the Game Development Manager, your pivotal role is to foster the ongoing development of rugby in the Mid Canterbury region, with a primary focus on community-wide growth. Our community boasts over 2,300 rugby enthusiasts, encompassing players, coaches, managers, and referees. Celebrating a diverse array of teams, including the Heartland team, Development, Colts, U18, and U16 representative squads, as well as development squads ranging from U12 to U15, we take immense pride in our collective achievements.

Serving as a crucial training lead, you will enhance our coach education program while spearheading the training and development of players and referees.

Your responsibilities extend across the junior, teenage, and senior levels of rugby, where you will also contribute to organising tournaments and supporting the Union's representative program.

In addition to your outlined duties, there may be occasions where you are called upon to undertake additional responsibilities, including special projects, as directed by the Chief Executive.

The preferred candidate should possess:

A passion for rugby, coupled with a solid technical and tactical understanding of the sport.
Demonstrated proficiency in delivery and facilitation skills.
Background in developing strategies and achieving desired outcomes.
Excellent communication skills adaptable to various settings.
A self-motivated mindset and a strong ability to collaborate as a team player.
