Location: headspace Maitland
Part-time 24 hours per week fixed-term contract
About the opportunity:

Join our dynamic team at headspace Maitland! We are seeking a dedicated individual to contribute to the seamless and efficient operations of our GP practice. As a valued member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide crucial support to MBS funded GPs and Private Allied Health providers (PAHP).

The role of the headspace Maitland Practice Nurse extends beyond administrative tasks to actively assisting young individuals with physical health, sexual health, and AOD concerns.

Essential Criteria:

Tertiary qualification as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse.
Current registration with AHPRA
Demonstrated ability to work holistically with young people with mental health and drug and alcohol issues including indigenous, refugee, CALD and low socio-economic background
Demonstrated ability to autonomously provide comprehensive services in the General Practice Setting
Demonstrated skills and understanding of mental health assessments, referrals, and co-ordination of care for young people in crisis and at risk of mental health and drug and alcohol issues.
Demonstrated contemporary knowledge and skills in the area of young person’s health, particularly sexual health issues
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain linkages and networks with a range of government, community and corporate stakeholders to facilitate clear referral pathways
Experience in working independently and within a multidisciplinary team of professionals
A demonstrated ability to effectively engage with young people, families and carers who are at risk of mental health and drug and alcohol issues.
Demonstrated experience in the use of computer applications for record keeping and accessing of information.
Ability to maintain comprehensive and professional information, and complete data collation.
Experience in supporting a GP with health screening.
Desirable:

Immunisation or sexual health training and/or experience would be an advantage.
