Description

We are looking for an experienced Facility Manager for our 57-bed rest home and hospital in Cambridge East. The role reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the on-site Clinical Manager.


About the role:


The Facility Manager oversees a team of clinical, administrative, housekeeping and maintenance staff, ensures maximum resident occupancy, consistently drives quality improvement, and is a role model for the Group's Culture of Care.

Responsibilities (are, but not limited to, the following):

Strategic

Plans and implements ongoing care direction compliant with Ministry of Health (MOH) contracts, and maintains relationships with these and other allied agencies and health care professionals
Maintains the non-clinical aspects of running the facility to a standard that meets the requirements of certification and surveillance audits conducted by the MOH
Leads and supports the team to deliver a level of care consistent with the Group’s CARE Values of Competence, Authenticity, Respect and Empathy
Ensures maximum resident occupancy

Operational

Works closely with the on-site Clinical Manager to help ensure safe, efficient and effective nursing practice through the day-to-day support and direction of staff members, liaison with and attending to the concerns of family members, and the performance of admin duties
Maintains a high standard of housekeeping services
Has thorough knowledge of and implements all administrative procedures
Be responsible for notifications to appropriate authorities, i.e., coroner, police, Worksafe.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

Actively participates in quality improvement activities of the Group
Ensures adequate staff coverage of the facility and implements a relevant continuing education programme for all staff
As delegated Quality Manager - updates, establishes and implements the Quality Assurance Program.

Health and Safety

Promotes a safe environment for clients, visitors and staff
Attends inspections from relevant Health and Safety Authorities and effectively implements required changes

About you:

We are looking for a top-notch leader who will join our team of competent and caring professionals. To be successful in this role, you will have:

Three or more years’ experience in the aged or YPD care environment, including at least one year in a team lead or management role
A qualification related to aged care/ health and disability/ or equivalent
A current first aid certificate
Medical or clinical background (advantageous but not required)
The ability to work very well and collaborate with a diverse team
The ability to relate to and communicate well with residents and staff with varying ethnic backgrounds
A strong sense of responsibility, accountability and initiative, along with the ability to cope well with change
Proven leadership skills
Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
Good physical fitness and the commitment to maintain this
