About the Company
Based in the vibrant coastal town of Oamaru, our client is a forward-thinking electricity distribution and energy services provider that powers the local economy. Serving over 13,000 customers across North Otago and parts of South Canterbury, they offer reliable energy while delivering innovative solutions for the community. In addition to their core business, they have a growing Contracting division providing electricity distribution network services throughout New Zealand.

They are now looking for a skilled Information Technology Infrastructure Lead to join their team and play a key role in ensuring their IT infrastructure supports the business’s technology needs and goals.

About the Role
As an IT Infrastructure Lead, you will be crucial in delivering high-performance IT infrastructure services that support business operations and projects. Working closely with the Information and Digital Technology (IDT) team, you’ll ensure robust cybersecurity measures, system maintenance, and effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Oversee end-user devices, networks, servers, and applications to ensure smooth operations.
Cyber Security: Ensure security measures are effective and continuously managed.
Project Delivery: Lead small to medium infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered successfully.
Service Delivery: Manage relationships with external technology providers and provide excellent internal customer support.
Project Participation
Provide infrastructure support for business system projects and act as a subject matter expert in infrastructure technologies.
Service Delivery
Manage external providers to ensure smooth service delivery.
Provide level 2 support for end-user devices and applications to resolve issues efficiently.
Customer Service
Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly addressing internal needs and collaborating with service providers to resolve issues.
Planning and Organising
Manage your workload effectively to meet deadlines and expectations.
Ensure all IT changes are documented and implemented according to policy.
Other Duties
Take on additional tasks as needed to support IT infrastructure operations.
Experience & Skills
5+ years of experience in IT service desk, network, and server support.
Proven experience managing external vendors and service providers.
Project management experience is an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
A tenacious problem solver focused on resolving issues.
A customer-focused mindset.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field.
