Description

We are a specialist dental practice in Dunedin with a close-knit team. We aim to be the best specialist dental practice in New Zealand by using top-quality materials & technology and going ‘above and beyond’ to ensure a seamless dental journey for our patients.

Ellie is a periodontist (treatment of gum disease and cosmetic gum surgery) and Nick is a prosthodontist (think ‘dental extreme make-over’ type of work). We work with an experienced hygienist, Ness. Our jobs are intense but very rewarding.

The Role

As our Dental Assistant, you will ideally have a background in dentistry, the ability to thrive under pressure in a busy environment, and a proactive approach to your work.

You will support our experienced specialists and hygienists across a range of procedures, with key responsibilities including preparation, patient administration, and follow-up care. This role extends beyond typical dental assistant duties, providing the opportunity to become a valued member of our team.

We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for our patients.

Daily responsibilities include:

· Chairside assistance during dental procedures and treatments

· Administration functions such as clinical notes and treatment plans

· Collaborating with the administration team to ensure smooth day-to -day operations

· Preparation of instrument trays and sterilisation

· Providing patients’ post-treatment care and follow-up

You’ll have:

· Previous Dental or Health sector experience

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Good organisational skills and attention to detail

· Experience using a variety of software packages

· Strong administrative skills

· Proficient in managing invoicing and payment processing

· A keen and eager attitude to learn

· A team-oriented mindset

· Ability to start work at 8:30am each morning

· Applicants must have NZ residency or a current and valid working visa

We value integrity, hard work, resilience, positivity, and warmth. We want to empower our team members in their roles while providing opportunities for professional growth. We foster a fast-paced, can-do attitude while ensuring a fun and supportive work environment.
