About the business

The St Vincent de Paul Society aspires to be recognised as a caring charity offering "a hand up" to people in need. We do this by respecting their dignity, sharing our hope, and encouraging them to take control of their own destiny.

As a special work of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Vincent Industries provides supported employment opportunities for people living with a disability. Additionally Vincent Industries is Northern Tasmania’s largest fashion recycling facility based in Wynyard, North West Tasmania. The business currently employs 29 individuals with a range of disabilities and supports them to complete all production requirements of the business, including sorting and quality control of donated fashion items, bagging and baling for export and distribution, cutting specially selected stock for rag, sales, administration, canteen and assisting with our Wynyard Vinnies Shop. Vincent Industries is a registered NDIS service provider.

About the role

The role will be required to contribute to the success of Vincent Industries as a team member through constructive input, communication, a professional approach to work and cooperation and respect for co-workers and management.

We currently have two positions available one being offered full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.30am till 4.30pm, the other offered part-time 9.00am till 4:30pm four days per week.

These roles do not include weekends or shift work.

Contemporary and collaborative approach to work, with a solutions-focused mindset.

Competent with Microsoft applications and willing to learn new applications and systems.

Strong commitment to confidentiality and an understanding of privacy principles.

Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities, thinking ahead and identifying potential issues, while adopting a flexible approach as required.

Ability to build, foster and manage relationships with key stakeholders and other like-minded organisations.
